​North Hollingworth Farm to Rake Head

If you have made it here your climbing legs should be warm from the Pennine Bridleway or Hollingworth Lane. This climb is 90% cobbled with the odd technical element thrown in where cobbles are missing or they have fallen away making the climb a challenge. The climb is fairly steep with an average gradient of 7.1% and a maximum of 10.8% giving it a hard (Red) status.

Hard – Red

Hard climbs will feature a constant level of difficulty or feature a technically difficult section. Climbs of this nature are likely to feature terrain with a gradient between 5 and 10%. This type of climb will really challenge new cyclists and require regular cyclists to increase their efforts to successfully complete this type of climb. The majority of the climbs in the Calderdale area are hard – Red.
